Lydeard St Lawrence Community Primary School

About Our School

Lydeard St Lawrence Primary School is part of the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT).

Our school is situated in the small rural village Lydeard St Lawrence. Our school was built in 1876 and is a traditional construction, made of local red sandstone and brick. On the site there are three newer buildings that comprise of two classrooms, a dining area and a sensory room.

We are also incredibly lucky to have an onsite playing field and an enclosed area to accommodate forest school.

In our school there are approximately 50 children on roll aged 4 to 11 years old. When the children leave at the end of year 6 most transition to Kingsmead Secondary School.

The Office Manager, Laura Wright, is available Monday -Friday from 8.30 am - 4.00 pm.
The Headteacher, Miss Donovan, is available by appointment.

 School Transport

School transport is available if your child is within our catchment or if we are the nearest school. To be eligible your child must be under 8 and reside 2 miles from the school, or over 8 and reside 3 miles from the school. Children are transported using minibuses and taxis.

The lane outside the school is narrow so if you are unable to park outside the school (ensuring that you do not park in the staff and mini bus parking areas) the village hall committee have kindly allowed us to make use of their car park, at pick up and drop off time, which is situated just down the hill from the school.
